A Defended 🤍 isn’t the Same as an Unteachable 🤍

Some of the deepest wounds are not caused by what someone does with their hands, but by what they release with their mouth.

A false accusation can follow you into the night. A careless criticism can remain in your thoughts for years. Someone may judge your motives, misrepresent your character, or repeat a story about you that is simply not true.

There are moments when wisdom requires an honest response. There are wrongs that should be addressed, boundaries that must be established, and truths that need to be spoken.

But you were never called to spend your entire life proving yourself to everyone.

Not every accusation deserves your anxiety. Not every opinion deserves a place in your identity.

Sometimes you speak clearly. Sometimes you remain silent. And sometimes you allow your character, your consistency, and the truth of God to answer over time.

People may speak about a version of you they never truly knew. God knows your heart completely.

Let that knowledge bring both comfort and humility.

It comforts you because no false judgment can deceive Him. It humbles you because He also sees what needs correction.

Therefore, we do not use this verse to reject every criticism. Instead, we ask God for discernment.

Is this an accusation I should release, or is there truth here that I should receive?

A defended 🤍 is not the same as an unteachable 🤍.

Keep me from pride when I succeed.

Rescue me from shame when I fall.

I do not have to defend my reputation at every cost.

You know what is true even when others misunderstand.

You see the conversation I was not present to hear.

You know the motive another person judged incorrectly.

You witnessed the moment my words were twisted, and my kindness was forgotten.

Nothing is hidden from you.

Some wrongs require wise boundaries.

Give me discernment for each situation.

Do not let self-defense become an obsession.

Save me from rehearsing arguments in my mind and trying to win conversations that will never happen.

Although words have hurt me more deeply than I care to admit, I refuse to surrender my peace to every opinion spoken about me.

Let truth speak. Let character speak. Let the fruit of my life speak.

Give me sober wisdom.

Keep my heart open.

Help me change my direction.

Give me a sound mind and a heart willing to give true love another chance.

Teach me to forgive without denying what happened.

Let my life move in a better new direction, so that I continue my own personal healing, while also healing others.
