Finding Peace In The Unknown

Have you ever woken up with a heavy sense of dread?

Maybe there’s a meeting you’ve been dreading all week. A difficult conversation you know you need to have. A decision you’re not sure how to make.

Maybe you’re entering a season of complete uncertainty. Perhaps you’ve received news that has shaken your world, and suddenly every step forward feels like stepping into the unknown.

You may feel like you’re going in blind.

But you’re not.

You are walking into the unknown with The Creator—the One who already sees what you cannot.

You Are Not Walking Alone

Isaiah 45:2 offers a powerful reminder:

"I will go before you and will level the mountains. I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron."

The Creator isn’t waiting for you on the other side of the obstacle, watching to see how you manage.

The Creator is already ahead of you.

There are things being aligned that you cannot yet see. There are barriers being removed that you don't even know exist. There are paths opening that you haven't discovered yet.

That is the nature of The Creator.

The Creator prepares the way before our feet ever touch the ground.

When Fear Wants to Take Over

I’ve had moments in my own life when I stepped into situations feeling deeply afraid.

Times when everything felt uncertain and I had no idea how things would turn out.

And in those moments, my instinct was to figure everything out—to strategize my way to safety, anticipate every possible outcome, and somehow control what happened next.

But I’ve learned, sometimes painfully, that anxious thinking does not prepare us for the road ahead.

It only exhausts us before we get there.

Sometimes the greatest act of faith is releasing our need to know exactly how everything will unfold.

We can prepare. We can make wise choices. We can take the next right step.

But we don't have to know every step after that.

The Creator already does.

Surrounded From Behind and Before

Psalm 139 gives us a beautiful picture of how intimately The Creator knows us and surrounds us.

It reminds us that The Creator knows when we sit and when we rise, perceives our thoughts, and is familiar with all our ways.

Then comes this powerful image:

"You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me."

Think about that.

Behind you. Before you.

Your past does not have to chase you unprotected.

And your future does not have to frighten you because The Creator is already there.

You are surrounded.

There is no gap in that covering.

What If Nothing Seems to Be Changing?

Maybe you’re reading this and thinking:

That sounds beautiful, but I’ve been trusting The Creator—and my situation still feels impossible.

Maybe you’ve been praying and nothing seems to be changing.

Maybe you’re tired of waiting.

I hear you.

I’ve been there too.

But the fact that you cannot see something happening does not mean nothing is happening.

The Creator can be working in places you cannot see.

The road can be difficult without you being abandoned on it.

And uncertainty does not mean you are lost.

Sometimes faith means continuing forward even when you don't yet have the full picture.

You Don't Need to Know Everything

Jesus said in John 16:33:

"In this world you will have trouble, but take heart. I have overcome the world."

The promise was never that life would be free from difficulty.

The promise is that difficulty does not have the final word.

There is a difference between believing you will never encounter trouble and knowing that you are never alone in the middle of it.

One requires you to believe life will always go according to plan.

The other invites you to trust that whatever happens, The Creator is with you—and already ahead of you.

A Declaration for Today

So whatever you are walking into today, pause for a moment.

Take a breath.

Release the need to figure everything out.

And remind yourself:

The Creator has already gone before me.

What is waiting for me today is not a surprise to The Creator.

The road I am on is not uncharted territory. The Creator is already there. The Creator is already working.

I do not need to know everything. I only need to take the next right step.

Because The Creator goes before me, I do not need to be afraid.

Whatever you are facing today, you are not walking into it alone.

The path may be unknown to you—but it is not unknown to The Creator.
